Police chiefs plan to educate officers
Plans to give police officers lessons in personal finance have been branded a waste of time by the police union, the Police Federation.
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) are due to start a nationwide programme of financial education training in conjunction with the Financial Services Authority (FSA), whose trainers will visit all of the police forces in England and Wales, around 43 in all.
The free course will explain to officers exactly what APR means etc, this seem a very strange thing to be teaching, after all aren’t police officers supposed to pass entry exams etc. so think that they would not know what the APR had to do with a loan, defies any logic and what has that got to do with them doing their job?
Most people would want to see police officer out and about, even if they are just in cars, rather than sitting in a classroom being shown how to fill in a loan application form.
